super fun !! Melissa and I did our usual pre-carpet drink at the Omni [margarita and a cosmopolitan ] . It's an FG tradition since back in the "Marnie" days . In typical fg style we cut the deadline close and scooted onto the red carpet at the last second . No directors chairs this year. Wa-Wah . But it was toasty warm with the propane hobo heaters fired up and I had a fabulous long "bob barker" mic [thanks Steve] which more than made up for the chairs . Dylan [who was responsible for the missing seats , graciously apologized and defended himself by saying "I would have gotten them but I was swamped with other duties since Dan decided to have the CEAs at a haunted house. "] The Emery was cozy and smelled like a carnival . hot waffles in the house . It was quite an undertaking to pull off an awards production in an ancient theatre with no electricity and no plumbing !! Congrat to Citybeat and Dan McCabe for having the grass roots approach and tenacity to pull it off and make it festive !!! Hopefully the ceas created awareness that we NEED a theatre with the size and history of the Emery ! I would love to go take a tour of it empty to really get the vibe of the place . I wonder if it IS haunted ? The CEAs are always one of THE most fun nights of the year and this year was no exception . It's a celebration of this town and OUR music scene bringing together diverse genres and unifying our music traditions and our future.

We're right with you . Due to the state of the economy and general inclination towards wastefulness and over-spending , the Fairmount Girls are committed to digging deep in our ouwn closets for some forgotten gems ! Thrift stores and vintage shops are also an alternative to big budget chian stores . Did you know casablanca vintage will rent you a gown or a tux for the evening ? Or try raiding your best friend's closet . Remember there's no excuse for Not looking fabulous . Don't throw money at it . See how creative your lack of dollars can push you to dress .

The "Should have stayed Home" award is a big OUCH . Wear a plain t-shirt and jeans and you could be eligible . Absolutely zero effort could win it for you ! also known as "Drabatha" .

Dapper Dandy

This award goes to the best dressed most festive man of the evening .
Sometimes this award is known as the "jim dandy". Sam Nation won the
first dapper dandy and deservedly so !!

Past Trashie Awards

This is our 6th year presenting the awards and our 3rd year on the red carpet . A few changes....
This year the CEA awards are taking place at the newly re-vamped Emery Theatre . Truly a gem , I used to go there for horror movies and the ultimate pipe organ that was played for intermissions.
It's very exciting that the Emery is renovated and restored . Cincinnati used to house small theatres in every neighborhood , but they tend to tear them down or rent them out to scum lords before they tear them down. Congrats for saving the Emery !! The FG's and their discriminating eyes will await your arrival on the red carpet . We may take your picture and slip you a card alerting you that "you have been "trashed" . If so, you are in the running for a Trashie award ! Good or Bad......it's always an honor .
This year we are feeling "Sour Pat" extra bitter . So, advance warning to dress Over-the-TOP and be festive.......cause nobody want to get the "should have stayed home" . ouch !

We also give away a lifetime achievemnet award every year . Prior Qualified Rocker winners have been Shaun Norton, McCabe McLoud, Dave Davis, and the Wolverton Brothers !!

Cea Awards Sunday November 23rd.

Fairmount Girls are an established independent rock band from Cincinnati Ohio . We specialize in smooth fucking harmonies so thick you can't tell who's singing which parts . We throw in transistor radio noise, trumpet, the coolest chick on a 1967 "sport" Farfisa organ that sounds like swirling dervish , 2 bookend boy guitar players who play vintage guitars through tiny vox amps and an all girl rhythm section .
This is the 6th annual Fairmount Girls Fashion TRASHIES !!!
We are self appointed and take this far too seriously . So Look out ! It's Silly fun!
